A community dedicated to Bitcoin, the currency of the Internet. Bitcoin is a distributed, worldwide, decentralized digital money. Bitcoins are issued and managed without any central authority whatsoever: there is no government, company, or bank in charge of Bitcoin. You might be interested in Bitcoin if you like cryptography, distributed peer-to-peer systems, or economics. A large percentage of Bitcoin enthusiasts are libertarians, though people of all political philosophies are welcome.
First there was(and still is) bitcoin.it. Now I see there is bitcoinwiki.org. Bitcoin.it is ONLY about Bitcoin. Bitcoinwiki.org is about all cryptocurrencies. Bitcoinwiki.org says "The Bitcoinwiki.org project was created by an anonymous community of crypto enthusiasts in 2014. Anticipating the coming boom in the public's interest in the cryptocurrency, this anonymous community decided to create a repository of knowledge about the cryptoworld in a high-grade crypto encyclopedia or BitcoinWikipedia. The name Bitcoinwiki.org was chosen as a tribute of respect to the first cryptocurrency. " Anybody know who is behind this? The site certainly doesn't deserve the name.
Apart from the main projects we’re working on, our team contributes to the informational infrastructure about the market players, coins, etc. Amongst others, we’re working on updating the Bitcoin wiki. I created a page cataloging backup and storage methods on the bitcoin wiki - looking for more info
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Backup_and_Storage_Methods This page is intended to review existing methods to help people make informed choices (more help needed!). I'm wondering if anyone out there knows of other published methods on how to properly store and backup a bitcoin wallet. Ideally, these would be methods that are as well put together as glacierprotocol.org but any method that attempts to be complete (even if it isn't) would be helpful. Its also useful to document which protocols are not safe and why. So anything of the level of quality of anything currently on that page would be helpful. So does anyone know any methods that aren't already on the list?
Reminder: Bitcoin never had a problem scaling on-chain to Visa levels. The Bitcoin Wiki explained this years ago. Core simply created a false narrative with disinfo campaigns.
